Remote Hands

Remote Hands is a service that offers you access to highly skilled data centre staff to perform straightforward and/or routine visual and motor tasks on your IT infrastructure. Typical tasks include:

  • Rack and stack new equipment.
  • Visual equipment checks and monitoring of alarms, lights and other status information.
  • Replacing hot-swap hardware with available spares (HDDs, PSUs).
  • System upgrades – CPUs, Drives, Memory.
  • Configuring equipment (e.g. routers, switches) via console under customer specific instructions.

Cabling services

We are fully equipped to provide comprehensive data cabling services. Our solutions are based on the deployment of CommScope’s Systimax Category 6A Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable, OM4 rated multimode fibre and OS2 single mode fibre, according to the following guiding principles:

  1. Standards based design and product selection – 20-year manufacturer application performance warranty.
  2. Ease of maintenance and management – Structured cabling design based on data centre best practices.
  3. Future proof investment – Allowing for new application demands in the future.

Migration consultancy & project management

We will provide a senior Project Manager who will liaise with the Migration Agency and the end customer to provide a smooth on-boarding experience. We can also introduce migration and project management service partners to our customers. Our partners have developed a comprehensive and well-proven methodology for data centre migration. Each project is undertaken in discrete stages, with a formal project management approach to ensure that the key objectives are met. Cloud services

We have 13 years of experience hosting mission critical applications in Australia and nine years of experience hosting experience for Government Secure Internet. Our Management Tools offer real-time views of your service inventory, rack power management and 2-hour provisioning portal modules. Our services reside in highly certified data centres – Intellicentre 1 (IC1) and Intellicentre 2 (IC2) – both located in Sydney. Components are designed to satisfy all demands of customers who are looking to host their mission-critical applications. Macquarie Telecom provides a 99.95% Service Level Guarantee (SLG) on all hosting products and a 100% SLG for active/active ‘Multi Availability Zone’ solutions.

Virtual Data Centre

Our Virtual Data Centre (VDC) service provides customers with a complete compute, networking and storage infrastructure within our world-class data centre that is directly under your control. By selecting a Virtual Data Centre, customers become their own resource managers with the ability to turn up, turn down and size their cloud computing resources at the click of a mouse. This optimisation means lower IT costs as well as quick on-demand deployment of new cloud environments.

The VDC solution can be connected to any other hosting (VDC, dedicated, Colocation) and networking solution (MPLS, VPLS, Data Centre and solution cross connects) and comes in two types: managed and self-managed. In a managed VDC, Macquarie Telecom provides a fully-managed operating system including repair time guarantee, patch management and license management. The self-managed version allows customers to run any kind of operating system or appliance.

Dedicated Private Cloud

Our LAUNCH Private Cloud service is built on dedicated infrastructure (including hypervisor) so your cloud environment provides the security necessary for your mission critical applications. Private Cloud can be delivered via our LAUNCH managed dedicated servers or via our colocation services at our Tier III Intellicentre 2 Data Centre (IC2).

Storage Solutions

From ultra high performance 8,000 IOPS to low cost archive storage, we offer ‘horses for courses’ when it comes to storage. Our solutions provide several workload optimisation features that address ‘noisy neighbour’ issues and can increase the performance for heavy workloads using dynamic storage tiering. Block level storage replication is available as well as NAS solution using CIFS or NFS.

Security

Our Security service is a suite of mission-critical security solutions built to work with your cloud environment. These security solutions come with an advanced management portal so you can easily make changes on the fly while still meeting your security and compliance requirements.

  1. Managed Virtual Firewall – a complete firewall-as-a-service inside your Virtual Data Centre.
  2. Managed Dedicated Firewall – a high-performance firewall-as-a-service suited to complex private cloud environments.

Disaster Recovery

Our Disaster Recovery service is a fully outsourced Disaster Recovery solution that works at the hypervisor level. It is application independent so it works with a wide range of applications and environments. With one of the lowest downtime records for a Disaster Recovery solution in the industry, we will get you back up and running in less than 30-minutes just like nothing happened. Our committed data retention policy means that when a disaster strikes, you will not experience more than 5-minutes of data loss. In reality, most customers experience less than 1-minute of data loss.
