Hosted solution opens up new market for UniPix

Does your company deliver web-based services to its customers?
Are you looking for increased revenue opportunities and the chance to open up
new markets, quickly and easily?
|
This was the case for local ERP software developer UniPix when it approached Macquarie
Telecom looking for an outsourced hosting solution.
UniPix develops, distributes and implements a software suite known as Online 2000.
The online ERP system forms the backbone of operations for many manufacturing and
wholesale distribution companies. It manages tens of millions of transactions,
representing billions of dollars in company turnover across the Asia Pacific region.
With more than 800 companies currently licensed, the company developed a new strategic
direction to boost customer access and reduce set-up and administration time.
The software suite was re-developed with a new browser interface and re-launched as
Online Advantage.
With the new name came higher expectations.
UniPix sought a strategic selling point that would differentiate the updated
model and open up new market opportunities.
It found the answer in Macquarie Telecom's secure managed hosting environment.
Hosted out of Macquarie Telecom's Intellicentre – a dedicated hosting facility based in
Sydney – UniPix clients now have access to software that can run anytime, anywhere, any
place.
UniPix uses Macquarie Telecom's Managed Security Services which provide 24/7 monitoring
and management as well regular and customised reporting.
It also incorporates content filtering, anti virus and anti spam, secure connectivity
and authentication, managed firewalls and IDS.
Speed of delivery, which was previously an issue, is now a major selling point of
the UniPix solution.
“In the past, the lead time to implementation was based around acquisition and
configuration of servers and ancillary equipment. With a managed hosting model, we can
deploy in hours
because it is all set up ready to go,” said Rob Ellis, Managing Director, UniPix.
“Now, we make one change and it is replicated across all users on all sites.”
“Our customers now get massive accessibility and we can deliver all those benefits
without the customer having to concern themselves with the security and management
of the infrastructure and service,” said Ellis. |
