Managed hosting solves security and availability issues for BizEd Services

Maintaining the security and availability of customer data is an increasing concern for business and government.

For BizEd Services, a local provider of outsourced Learning and Development solutions, security and availability aren't just a concern – they are critical.

BizEd hosts and maintains the online training infrastructure for clients including Australian Defence Industries and Coles Myer Limited. When BizEd started looking for a managed hosting partner, security and availability were their key requirements.

Macquarie Telecom worked with BizEd to develop a cost-effective solution that meets these goals and provides a high-availability service through a fully redundant infrastructure with no single point of failure.

The clustered Microsoft SQL server design also offers the capacity to scale by at least 400 per cent to accommodate future growth – without requiring any additional hardware or architectural changes.

The Macquarie Telecom solution includes:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2000 in a cluster configuration
  • clustered dedicated load balancers
  • managed dedicated firewalls
  • load balanced server farms for all application
  • Web servers
  • 24x7 support and management reporting capabilities

The solution is hosted at the Intellicentre, Macquarie Telecom's state of the art hosting facility that is certified to BS 7799 and DSD Gateway security standards..

“BizEd can manage its client's expectations secure in the knowledge that Macquarie Telecom will meet our IT requirements,” said Peter Goldrick, Managing Director, BizEd Services.
