By using the service of GlobalStar in Australia, customers will have access to coverage
in remote and rural areas where there is no GSM coverage. GlobalStar provides 100% coverage
across Australia and up to 200 nautical miles off the mainland and Tasmania. The tariff's
for usage of satellite services are at a premium.
- The Macquarie Telecom GlobalStar service incorporates both the satellite and the GSM
service. The customer acquires both the GSM Service and Satellite Service from Macquarie
Telecom.
- The service requires a Dual Mode Handset, which can be purchased in FleetView, which
is capable of operating in both GSM mode and satellite mode.
- GlobalStar may be used to make calls to and from telephones connected to networks
in mainland Australia and Tasmania and up to 200 nautical miles out to sea.
- The service is conducted through three gateways in Dubbo (NSW), Mt Isa (QLD) and Meekathara
(WA).
- Same messaging solutions as GSM available to GlobalStar (except CALLback)
- International Roaming is available to certain countries using satellite..

When in GSM mode, the GSM rates will be the standard company GSM rates.
- GPRS is not available on satellite services.
