30 April 2009 - Macquarie Telecom Announces Earnings Guidance for 2009 Full Year Results

Australian carrier Macquarie Telecom (ASX: MAQ) today announced its earnings guidance for the full fiscal year 2009.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for the full year ended June 30, 2009 is expected to be between $22 million and $24 million compared to the previous corresponding period result of $13.8 million.

“The result will be Macquarie Telecom’s best trading result for any full year, and demonstrates Macquarie is delivering on its strategy,” said Chief Executive David Tudehope.

Macquarie Telecom’s Data & Hosting businesses have continued to perform strongly and underlie the expected 2009 full year result. Macquarie Telecom’s revenue mix continues to improve, with its higher margin Data & Hosting businesses generating increased contributions.

Mr Tudehope said, “This expected result supports the strategic direction we have taken as we build momentum in our higher margin Data & Hosting businesses. During this period of significant economic volatility we have continued to invest in infrastructure upgrades and a strengthening of our sales and operations team. This expected result reinforces the fact that our award winning customer service and leadership in management tools continue to resonate strongly with our business and government customers.”

Macquarie Telecom maintains a strong balance sheet with cash and cash equivalents of $27.8 million as at 31 December 2008.

Macquarie Telecom will release its results for the full year ended 30 June 2009 on 27 August 2009.
