30 April 2009 - Macquarie Telecom Announces Earnings Guidance
for 2009 Full Year Results
Australian carrier Macquarie Telecom (ASX: MAQ) today
announced its earnings guidance for the full fiscal year 2009.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation
(EBITDA) for the full year ended June 30, 2009 is expected to be
between $22 million and $24 million compared to the previous
corresponding period result of $13.8 million.
“The result will be Macquarie Telecom’s best trading result
for any full year, and demonstrates Macquarie is delivering on
its strategy,” said Chief Executive David Tudehope.
Macquarie Telecom’s Data & Hosting businesses have continued
to perform strongly and underlie the expected 2009 full year
result. Macquarie Telecom’s revenue mix continues to improve,
with its higher margin Data &
Hosting businesses generating
increased contributions.
Mr Tudehope said, “This expected result supports the
strategic direction we have taken as we build momentum in our
higher margin Data & Hosting businesses. During this period of
significant economic volatility we have continued to invest in
infrastructure upgrades and a strengthening of our sales and
operations team. This expected result reinforces the fact that
our award winning customer service and leadership in management
tools continue to resonate strongly with our business and
government customers.”
Macquarie Telecom maintains a strong balance sheet with cash
and cash equivalents of $27.8 million as at 31 December 2008.
Macquarie Telecom will release its results for the full year
ended 30 June 2009 on 27 August 2009.
