The data centre comprehensive Tape Storage system is designed to ensure integrity, security and availability of all digital assets. The robotic tape storage library features:
- the potential to hold 100's of tapes
- the ability to load and unload tapes, categorise them according to a bar code and perform automatic tape drive cleaning
- LTO tape drives, which can use tapes with a capacity of 200Gb.
The Macquarie Dedicated Hosting Tape Storage Network includes a set of switches that collects your data and directs it to the server, which then places it on the tape system.
- Each server has dual NIC cards and one of these is dedicated to the Tape Storage System. This system is a separate network from the production network, and has its own IP subnet.

You have the choice of two backup cycles (daily incremental, once a week complete or 3 complete backups per week) with all full backup tapes stored securely offsite each week.
